Beauty or Nah: Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Powder

Yasmine Missaoui

Hello Beauties! I recently discovered an amazing sheer and oil-controlling translucent powder that is good at setting all your makeup in place after you apply it. It’s the bareMinerals Mineral Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 25.

This powder does an amazing job at setting my makeup, and whenever I rock the no-makeup look at school, I just apply this powder all over my face to stop my skin from shining throughout the day. The powder has a sheer, dry texture and a very long-lasting matte finish. I find myself not having to reapply powder throughout the day, which is great. I also love how this powder has sun protection, which can add even more SPF to your moisturizer or foundation, which usually already has sun protection in it.

The shades apply translucent, so this powder is good for all skin tones, but there is also a Tinted Mineral Veil, which is completely sheer but has a hint of warmth. This is good for people who want to avoid the step of applying bronzer. However, with the Mineral Veil I recommend applying some bronzer if you have fair to light skin. which is what I do on a regular basis.

Overall, I really recommend this powder to people who want to have a long lasting matte finish that can last all day, with or without makeup. A little goes a long way this product, so I apply a little bit of this powder with a kabuki brush all over my face. This product actually did a better job than I had originally expected, so I have been very pleased with this powder and will definitely be purchasing it again in the future.

What I like:

  • Absorbs oil
  • SPF 25
  • Lasts all day

What I dislike:

  • If applied too much, than it can be very thick and dry on your skin
  • Pricey
