Dessert Pervert: Chocolate Chip Nutella Cookies

Yoo hoo!

The Dessert Pervert is back for one last time for this cycle and I bring you my ultimate chocolate chip Nutella cookies. *pause for dramatic effect* Now you may be wondering what is so “ultimate” about this recipe. I mean, they’re just cookies, right? All cookies are great. NOPE. NO SIR. NO MA’AM. NO WAY. These cookies will change your life. Unless you’re allergic to Nutella. (Sorry, Glenn) But seriously, these cookies are amazing. As someone who isn’t a big fan of sweets, I’m a bit of a hypocrite because I will eat an entire batch of these. You can trust me. Okay, just trust. Trust is important in this relationship.

So what makes these cookies so amazing? They will make you instant friends. IT’S MAGIC. No really if you bake these and give them out to people you will be famous. My friends might only be my friends because of these cookies tbh… ANYWAY, the cookies start off with a simple dough. This dough is what gives these cookies it’s beautifully chewy but soft and melty texture. The combination of melted butter and sugar looks disgusting but it is a gift to us, mere humans. The proportion of sugars used (brown sugar and white sugar) is important because brown sugar contains molasses so it will make the cookies have a chewier texture than if only white sugar is used. (It’s not a race thing I swear) Also, this recipe calls for an egg and also an extra egg yolk. The egg yolk makes the cookie rich, which gives it the melt-y soft texture. Those are the main “different” ingredients in this recipe that make it so special.

Of course, no one can go wrong with plain chocolate chip cookies. BUT, adding the extra Nutella is important (unless you have a nut allergy, in which case again, SORRY) because when giving the dough little pockets of Nutella, it crisps up a bit in the oven and it makes the most satisfying chewy, almost meringue-like bite. Just writing this makes me want to eat a cookie…I promise you, try this recipe. You don’t even have to try my other recipes but this recipe….OH LORDY LORD LORD.

I don’t have much to say about this recipe besides how amazing it is. Because it truly speaks for itself. Just try it out. Scroll down and grab the ingredients, mix it all in one bowl, toss it in the oven, and bake it and BOOM (side note: there are no explosions when making this recipe, they are 100% kid/family/adult safe) delicious little pieces of heaven.

This is my last post in this cycle. DO NOT FEAR, DESSERT PERVERT WILL STILL BE HERE! I’ll be back in the summer to give you more delicious treats as well as taking you on little adventures to grab a quick bite! Until then, my little dessert perverts! 🙂
