Preschool Philosophy: Motion is Impossible (Preview)

Hiroya Gojo

The second Preschool Philosophy video is going to focus on the philosophy of motion. You might be asking yourself, “What’s so philosophical about moving?” And you might be surprised to learn that philosophers manage to disagree on pretty much everything, including motion.

Two prominent Grecian philosophers who dealt with motion are Heraclitus and Zeno of Elea. Heraclitus tried to prove that everything was constantly in motion. Zeno of Elea, however, tried to prove that motion is impossible, proposing multiple paradoxes which illuminated the flaws in the idea of motion.
