Awkward Your Way Into: An Intro Post

Awkward Your Way Into: An Intro Post

Life is pretty weird–one moment you’re looking for rocky road ice cream with your cousin, and then, the next thing you know, you’re asking an employee for a wet floor sign to put over the pee puddle you made on aisle seven. Or when you try to sneak attack your dad at the mall and then you realize you followed the wrong person and almost gave a random innocent man a heart attack.

For some reason, the Universe likes putting us in horribly awkward situations and making us constantly question Why me? This summer, however, I have decided to embrace the awkward. I have realized that sometimes you need to be uncomfortable in order to grow as a person.

Hey, I’m Angeline, and I’m not trying to brag, but I am a very qualified awkward person who has 15 years’ worth of awkward stories, most of which had an impact on who I am right now. So, I guess if we go back to my former statement about the Universe, we are put in these circumstances for a reason, and the Universe isn’t just playing with us. Maybe, we should stop shying away from awkward and instead embrace it; it might do us some good. I know that my life has changed because I chose to acknowledge some awkward stuff that happened instead of suppressing the memory. They happened and they changed me, some for the better and some for the worse, but nonetheless, I grew as a person. So, come along with me, and learn how to awkward your way into almost any uncomfortable situation that may or may not have a pretty awesome outcome by reading about some painfully true encounters with awkwardness from my own past that made me realize that life is pretty weird, but that’s okay.
