Are you ready to Raise the Bar? This column is about finding your balance between fun and exercise. My mom always encouraged me to try many different sports (except football), so if I didn’t like one, I could always try another. I ended up sticking with most of them: basketball, baseball, and volleyball, until sophomore year in high school, when I started to do competitive weightlifting. I originally was lifting to get stronger for the next baseball season, but ended up sticking with weightlifting. In this column I will share my passion for weightlifting and what my daily routine is like. The gym I train at is in Abraham Lincoln High School and most of these tips and tricks come from my coaches and other lifters.
