who i am
i do not know
who will i be
i cannot discern
what will i choose today
will i be myself
or a shadow of everyone else
it’s easier to blend in
but what if i want to stand out
but standing out is much more work
and blending in takes no effort
the tallest blade of grass
is always first to be cut
so to protect yourself
it’s better to be short
every day is a battle
between a shadow and a star
will i shine bright today
or will i disappear in the dark
to blend in or stand out
