Dinah Cooper – The Jeans of Theseus

I took a pair of jeans that were beat up almost to the point of uselessness and transformed them into something more beautiful than before. I’ve been frustrated with fast fashion and the consumerist drive to buy everything new, all the time. I bought some jeans from a thrift store to repair, but because my local shop didn’t seem to endorse the distressed denim trend, I set out to destroy them myself. They turned out slightly more damaged than intended (don’t trust me with power tools), so I’m going with the story that ‘the previous owner’ got into a motorcycle accident after they left their shiv in the wash. I also did some darning and patching and now my legs won’t be cold.
