Generic-seeming statues in public parks and buildings are frequently overlooked. A few months ago, I took two photos centering statues of people I don’t know. Through translating these photos into paintings, I want to represent their lives, which have been otherwise forgotten.
Sunset Media Wave is a Bay Area Community Resources program located at the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset district.
