Rendered Maximum: Finish Ticket

The Concert: Finish Ticket at the UC Theatre in Berkeley

Finish Ticket is a band based out of Alameda. This was my third time seeing them live. The first was back in October 2015 at the Fox Theater in Oakland when they were opening for Twenty One Pilots, and the second timed was about three weeks later when they played at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

The Camera Policy: Before going, I looked at the venue’s website to see if I would be allowed to bring in a camera. It said that each band had their own rules about photography and it was unclear what Finish Ticket’s were, but I brought my camera along anyway. I was stopped at the door and told that the venue’s policies would be changing in the upcoming weeks and cameras with detachable lenses would no longer be allowed.

The Experience: At certain points I was just raising my arm up and snapping at random, never really knowing what I was taking a picture of. At the end of the show I was pretty sure that none of the pictures had turned out. Once I got the chance to look at them the next morning, I realized that they weren’t that bad. The majority of them were blurry or out of focus or grainy, but this gave me the chance to experiment with what worked and what didn’t work and improve upon it for the next show.
