Scribbly: Solace

I wanted to draw a piece that integrated an element of my lifestyle during this quarantine. I drew a girl sitting by the window, listening to music, and staring outside because this is one of my daily rituals. After finishing class & a workout, I unwind by pulling up a chair by the window and looking out, all while playing instrumental music. I allow myself to breathe, rest my eyes, and absorb everything and tune into the present moment. This is something I enjoy doing, and helps me to cope with my new ‘lifestyle.’ Essentially, this drawing is meant to portray that feeling of tranquility. I’d spent a few hours of my day tinkering this drawing and I’m really proud of my shading in particular; there’s a variety of textures and it feels very real. I genuinely had fun creating this piece.
