Enid Tong-Sticky Attachment

In this piece, I aimed to depict how our lives are intertwined with various relationships, obstacles, and self-reflection, represented by the sticky hands attached to my face. One of the main challenges in creating this oil painting self-portrait was achieving the correct balance of highlights, shadows, and skin tones for the sticky hands. Despite these challenges, the final painting surpassed my expectations and effectively communicates the message of confronting life’s attachments with courage and resilience.
