Many of us seek adventure out of a desire to change or as a kind of solution for issues that we face. But when that change comes, do our problems really go away? Do they remain in the world we leave behind or follow us into the next one? My latest film, The Tripp, explores the concept of personal transformation through the experience of Adrien, a lost hiker thrust into a world of confusion and chaos after eating hallucinogenic berries while in the midst of an existential crisis.
The Tripp was shot entirely in the Bay Area, and created on a budget of zero dollars. Special thanks to Scott Eberhardt from the SOTA media department and Caley Silk and Jon Bernson from the Sunset Media Wave Youth Program for being my mentors through the process of creating this film. This is my SMW debut and I am extremely grateful for the support, and probably would have procrastinated this film into a train wreck without them.
